The National Society of Pershing Rifles
The National Society of Pershing Rifles was organized at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in 1894 by General of the Armies of the United States John J. Pershing, commander-in-chief of the American Expiditionary Force during World War I. Over its long history the Society has bestowed membership upon hundreds of thousands of Americans to include some of the respected figures in our nation.
Today the Society exists as the nation's premier undergraduate, military oriented fraternal organization. Active members of the Pershing Rifles aquire advanced leadership training through the use of armed exhibition drill elements, as well as serving on unit, regimental, and national level staff positions. A Message from the Commander
Welcome to the online home of the 8th Regimental Headquarters, Pershing Rifles! It is my intent to use this website for the following reasons: to provide a resource for active members of the Regiment to communicate with one another, to maintain an up-to-date roster of current and past Riflemen who have served within the 8th Regiment, and to provide interested students with a resource by which they can gain more information about the National Society of Pershing Rifles, the 8th Regiment, and it's membership requirements.
